The response we give to God for the many blessings he gives us as Christians, needs to be to make sure those blessings don’t stop in us. Instead, we should make certain that they flow through us to others. One way we can make this happen is to prayerfully explain to all non-Christians we meet what life is like for us during our daily walk in the footsteps of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
A good way to witness to others could be to ask them to imagine this scene:
Picture that you, as a Christian, are sitting in a courtroom on trial for your life. All the evidence has been presented. The trial is almost over. As you nervously sit there waiting to hear the jury’s verdict regarding your future, there is tension in the air as the foreman of the jury stands, clear his throat and says with authority:
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2)
The foreman sits down.
The judge then declares you a free man. Pandemonium breaks loose in the courtroom! There is wild applause and cheering by all present! You are free! Free at last! Death is conquered!
The choice set before you was a choice between life and death. Because of your acceptance of Jesus Christ, and God’s grace, you, as a Christian are awarded life, freedom from sin, joy everlasting for all eternity and the many blessings available to you from God himself.
As you can see from this scene, this is one way we all can let God’s blessings flow through us directly to all others we meet who are non-Christians.
All we have to do is simply tell people about the blessings we have received from God and then – prayerfully – wait for our non-Christian listeners to give us their amazed – response.
