The only musical instrument that can give the best musical tone in the world is the violin. But to have these beautiful and perfect music tones, it must be tune first either by manual tuning or using an electronic tuner.
To beginners, it often happens that when they start to learn violin, this is one of their main problem. But this article, this problem of all violin beginners is long gone as I am going to impart a of tuning your violin manually.
Piano, is another instrument that can produce such beautiful musical tones but for now, it will be your basis on setting the tunes of your violin. And below are the procedures on how to do it successfully. Follow it carefully.
If you don’t know yet, the four strings in your violin corresponds to four notes and these are the GDAE notes. Now, the first note that will be first tune is the A note or A string. If you will again tune a violin in the future, it must always be A that will be tune first.
Since we are basing it on a piano, we will base the pitch of A string of our violin with the A note on the piano. This is the A note above middle C. In tuning the A, you will be setting this and the other following notes by ear. It might be hard at first but eventually you’ll learn on it.
After setting A, make D string to follow. Set it by matching it with the D above middle D of the piano. Next on that are G and match it with the piano’s G below middle G. And E note matching with above high C.
After finishing the step 1, go on another procedure of setting tune again. This time, again, set you’re A string to match with piano’s A note. Then do the same with the other strings.
After that, set your D string by playing the A and D together. Play and hear it until the wavering tone stop. Following that will be setting G with the D string and then the E string using A string as basis.
That’s it! You’re tuning is done. Congratulations
If you found a string is out of tone and you fixed it. Then you need to fix the other strings again.
You may find low end violins hard to set their tunes.
